The Marksmanship Club at Seattle University is one of the oldest clubs at Seattle University. It is one of the few clubs to be both an SGSU and a Sport Club. Founded in 1982 by Dr. Tadie, the club has an immaculate safety record, while providing a great atmosphere for students to both learn and improve their skills with various types of rifles, pistols, and shotguns.
The club participates in events and sports such as target shooting, Shoot on the Move, trap, and skeet. We provide training programs for students who want them and a safe and comfortable environment for everyone. We encourage both veteran and those who have never held a firearm before to join us at the range.
Safety lessons precede any member or guest participation in the sport, regardless of experience, and are provided by NRA certified instructors. We emphasize teaching and learning to shoot accurately under safe conditions.
Members will be taught how to handle firearms safely; learn the fundamentals of rifle, pistol, and shotgun shooting; be shown how firearms and ammunition function; and have the opportunity to learn to shoot a variety of calibers (including, but not limited to: 22lr, .45ACP, .308, and 12 gauge rounds)
NOTICE: Due to a changing legal environment Seattle University is restructuring its Marksmanship club. Once the matters are formalized operations will resume. Please feel free to email me if you have questions.
